What does "Enable safe mode" do?

Sorry for posting here but I can't find info on this in the BakkesMod wiki or on Discord FAQ.

I noticed in my Windows client there's an "Enable safe mode" option in the Settings menu that is checked. I'm just looking for clarification on what this does and when it should be used. Perhaps this info should be added to the wiki?

Nexus SC (Titanium White) Does Not Show the "Glitch" Boost (Locally Only)

Anyone know why when using Bakkesmod with the Nexus SC Titanium White does not show the "Glitch" boost? Have tested with a few other boosts and they seem to show just fine. I have also checked with other friends who use Bakkesmod and they say it shows on their screen, so it appears to just be a local issue, but it doesn't work in any mode. Not in casual, competitive, extra modes, or even private matches.

Bakkesmod Linux support

I tried installing Bakkesmod on Linux Manjaro but since the Wiki article is outdated I tried the Windows 7 version of Bakkes. I used proton-ge-custom and protontricks --guito install vcrun2017, vcrun2019, d3dcompiler_42.dll, d3dcompiler_43.dll, d3dcompiler_47.dll and corefonts since it was suggested by this older Guide. I then was able to launch the Windows 7 version but it said i should install the x64 and x86 VC Redist but I already installed vcrun2019 and 2017. I also installed the Windows 10 version of bakkesmod later on with protontricks by setting protontricks 252950 winecfg to windows 10 and after launching the windows 10 version it also said the VC Redist as it couldn't inject the DLL due to missing dependecy. In winetricks it said that vcrun2015 should be included in vcrun2019. As a sidenote I also tried to install both x86 visual C++ and x64 visual C++ manually through protontricks and it didn't help.

TL;DR It would be great if the Wiki page for Linux support got updated as I'm unable to install BakkesMod with my current Skill as I loved BakkesMod when I still used Windows 10

bakkesmod stubborn file location

To put it simple and in points.

  • Bakkesmod wants to stay in my C: Drive
  • Reason this is an issue is because I'm trying to use the workshop plugin that needs space to download the workshop maps
  • My C: drive has no extra space, whereas my D: drive has 300GB free
  • I've moved everything to my D: drive and there were no problems
  • however, bakkesmod couldn't find the bakkesmod files even when I reinstalled it ON the D: drive
  • I retried using the same and different methods many times
  1. File > Open BakkesMod Folder, doesn't work

  2. File > Reinstall, it reinstalls and makes a whole new folder in the C: drive's 'App Data > Roaming' section

  3. Settings > Manually Select BakkesMod Folder > D: Drive > Games > Rocket League > RocketLeague.exe

  4. Settings > Manually Select BakkesMod Folder > D: Drive > Games > Bakkesmod
    I've also tried deleting bakkesmod and reinstalling it in a slightly different area such as D: Drive > Program Files(86x) and such and it didn't work, along with deleting both bakkesmod and rocket league and best part is none of these worked.
    I've searched reddit and forum after forum and never found anything, I'm hoping someone can help me out.
    and yes, I've looked at some tutorials, one helped me fix my rocket league file from being lost but didn't fix the issue with bakkesmod wanting to stay in 'C: Drive > Program Files(86x) > bakkesmod > bakkesmod' AND the launcher in 'C: Drive > User > Name > AppData > Roaming

Multi user support

I, like many others, own multiple steam accounts to play rocket league. To keep the steam credentials for both accounts stored, I use an (inactive) second windows user.
I then start steam using runas to run it under my current windows account with permissions of the second user account (this is required for steam to store both credentials). The full command I use is: %windir%\system32\runas.exe /user:SECOND_WINDOWS_USER /savecred "cmd /c start steam://rungameid/252950".

Bakkesmod injector fails to detect rocketleague.exe when using runas. To reproduce you do not need a second steam account/rocket league copy, the results can be reproduced with only a second windows user and the above command.

Edit: I want to mention that I have obviously tried both running bakkesmod as admin and as the second user

BM out of date but not really

I use an alternative epic launcher called legendary, so I don't have epic installed or the game installed on the Epic Games folder in program files.
I have the latest version on bakkes and RL installed, but it tells me this:

If I disable safe mode, it launches and works but it's not ideal.
Version info displays this:

it says that I have version 309642 even through the version installed is 321643b
Where does the mod get the installed epic version from and why is it wrong?

BakkesMod does not inject when running Steam under a different user

There is a notable method to allow quick-switching Steam users on a Windows machine. It involves creating a desktop shortcut with the following "Target".

%windir%\system32\runas.exe /user:MyOtherUser /savecred "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe"

The user can then close steam and launch it from this shortcut to automatically switch accounts. Unfortunately BakkesMod does not find the Rocket League process when it is run under a different user when using the /user command.

It would be great if BakkesMod could look for these processes under all users or provide a setting or button to scan for additional processes in order to support this feature.

Note: For this quick-switch to work, a second Windows user must be created, logged into, and then Steam must also be logged into (as the second account) with "save credentials" checked. The user can then be logged out and the switching can be done seamlessly from the primary Windows account in the future.

Add Rocket launcher like features

Rocket launcher recently stopped updating and decided to merge Alphaconsole.
I and multiple people cant use Alpha console for various reasons, bug/crashes etc etc.

So it for the sake of the community, Bakkes mod injector should add features that rocket launcher had.

  • Map swapper
  • Host Lan lobbies
  • Connect to lan lobbies

Bakkes doesnt BOT

I discover a bug in your application. When the language of the win10 is not English (United States), bakkes "stop" working at main.cpp row 81 LOG_LINE(INFO, "Initialized logger for " << BAKKESMODINJECTOR_VERSION);
Probabily in QApplication something happen that cant start the bakkes.
I installed my OS with italian language and when launching bakkes it goes into processes of the Task Manager but the interface doesnt appear and in the injector.log only "Initialized logger for 28" appears... after the US language pack has set it works flawlessly.

Auto-inject via background service

A new bakkesmod service that can run (by default) on startup, and automatically inject bakkesmod in the background without any user interaction. For a better user experience, maybe even notify the user in-game that bakkesmod has been injected, similar to the way gif your game does so.

Assertion Failure

I'm having a issue while running BakkesMod.
VCRun 2015 - 2019 is installed. (x64 and x86 version)

When pressing F2 the game gets totally black and this error appears.

Can't install without a GUI

I think these MsgBox are blocking the ability to install this from powershell. Currently it forces you to install through a gui.

Training Mirroring randomization distributions

Would it be possible to move to a selective distribution system for shot mirroring? Right now it seems like it is 50/50 random distribution, which can cause over training to one side during periods.

It would be nice to set these. For example, over the next 10 shots, 5 will randomly be left and 5 will randomly be right guaranteed.

Endless promotion in Ranked

Whenever i start the game with bakkesmod loaded i will get the "promoted" notification after every single game, regardless if won or lost. It says "33(goes up every match) of 10 games played" and then gives me the promotion, as if it doesn't realize that 33 is not a valid number for this behavior. Not loading bakkesmod prevents this, but as soon as i load it again it shows up again.

I can provide further info on when exactly this occurs and any other info necessary.

To add some detail, i now tried reinstalling bakkesmod completely (also deleting the appdata folder) and as soon as i enable "show MMR on scoreboard" the bug appears again.

Log is showing multiple crashes when downloading json files

Every single json file that the log shows the attempt to download is showing the following error:

Not sure what it means, but in bakkesmod it means that it shows MMR functionality disabled.

I've done pretty much everything except formatting my computed, and at this point im stumped.

app hiding

i accidentally activated the minimize on start, and now the app won't open because the hide on minimuze is also active...
someone knows how to fix that?

splitscreen items support

sometimes, I play with someone using split-screen, I use Bakkesmod to create a nice car, my second player wants a black car, which is impossible without Bakkesmod, so can you make it possible to use items to the split-screen players?

BakkesMod makes the game crash with rocket league BC2_Update34 CL 324887

I am not sure this is the right place for this issue, if it is not please let me know.

Since the last Rocket League update, BakkesMod's injection makes the game crash. I have tried repairing the files from the EGS.
I have not tried a fresh reinstall of the game yet.

With bakkesmod running, Rocket League always shows "Rank disparity"

(Reopened here, as this should be the proper location for this issue)

With a party of 2 members, Rocket League will normally allow those players to join a ranked match with more players on a team (competitive 3v3, tournaments, etc). RL might have limits in place for this (like how close the players' ranks are), but I have yet to encounter this.

With bakkesmod running, attempting to join those competitive modes always shows "Rank disparity," regardless of players' relative ranks, even if they would normally be able to join.

Restarting the game without bakkesmod running allows the players to join like normal.

This has been an issue for quite a while - I had no idea it was caused by bakkesmod until I went a while without using it. I'm running this on the Steam Deck under proton (desktop mode), but I wouldn't be surprised if this issue existed on windows as well. Unfortunately I don't currently have a windows computer to test it on to confirm this.
