rust-for-c's Introduction

Rust for C++ Programmers

This gitbook is a collection of "Rust for C++ programmers" posts by Nick Cameron.

I found it a bit hard to read the posts on his blog, hence I started copy-pasting them into a git repo to make it easier to read. Of course, all the credit for content goes to Nick Cameron.

After a while, I decided to turn them into a gitbook, so here it is!

Update (June 2015): I've realized that Nick has created a repo for his posts on GitHub (nrc/r4cppp); I've merged new content and will look into possibility of merging this repo with Nick's.

rust-for-c's Issues

Push latest code with GitBook structure

If you're using the GitBook.io workflow, you can setup a webhook for this repo on GitBookIO.

That's the recommended way of publishing books.

However it seems like this code isn't up to date, it doesn't have a SUMMARY.md file for example.

@aminb Could you please update your latest code. Thanks

Please create a script+hook for updating your fork

As you might have noticed, your gitbook ranks higher in search results as the original github repo. On the hand this is nice, as it is more comfy to read (searchable etc) on the other hand the information is quite outdated (last update 6 months ago).

Please:

  1. keep your fork synced manually (or automatically check for updates using a simple script)
  2. use webhooks to keep your gitbook synced with your fork

You could notice @nrc. There is an open issue on this topic: nrc/r4cppp#6

Thanks for your efforts ๐Ÿ‘
