newslabs-wat's Introduction

See who's talking about what

A tool to compare coverage on different topics across different media sources using data from the BBC News Labs Juicer.

http://wat.bbcnewslabs.co.uk

Inspired by a concept by Iain Collins, Adam Ramsay & Zoe Blackler at the Center for Investigative Reporting design sprint on Climate Change.

Note: This experiment is still in development - the website is password protected outside of the BBC network.

newslabs-wat's Issues

When a date range is specified should be used as start/end date for all article graphs

When a date for a query has been specified the time series should start and end at the same date on all graphs of articles over time, to make comparing coverage over time easier at a glance.

This is really (IMO) an issue with the juicer, which doesn't do this and returns only dates starting at the first result it has, but it would be technically possible to address it here.

Bootstrap config in bower

Reminder that I need to update how the news labs bootstrap is included in way that plays nicely with date picker.
