vim-resize's Introduction

vim-resize

Are you a vim user? Don't know what to use the arrow keys for?

  • Download this plugin for smart window resizing using the arrow keys!

Usage

  • use the arrow keys in normal mode to resize a vertical or horizontal split in the desired direction

Configuration

Mappings

By default, this plugin uses these mappings:

nnoremap <silent> <c-left> :CmdResizeLeft<cr>
nnoremap <silent> <c-down> :CmdResizeDown<cr>
nnoremap <silent> <c-up> :CmdResizeUp<cr>
nnoremap <silent> <c-right> :CmdResizeRight<cr>

If you want to set your own mappings, copy this line into your vimrc:

let g:vim_resize_disable_auto_mappings = 1

and use the format above to customize them to your liking.

vim-resize's Issues

Support for counts

I've came across this plugin when trying to resize a window in a certain direction.

It would be nice if the functions would have support for a count, to make resizing by e.g. 5 lines/columns more efficient.

Namespace resize_count and document it

I just found this plugin and it's awesome! Finally a way to have the same resize behaviour in tmux and vim! By default the resizing is rather slow though. I found I can use resize_count to change that, but it's not documented and it would probably make sense to rename it so it matches the plugin name? Something like vim_resize_resize_count or vim_resize_resize_adjustment?
