hermes-2's Issues

Could you adapt the examples of hermes-1 to hermes-2?

Hello, @bendudson

Could you adapt the examples of hermes-1 to hermes-2, like d3d, d3d-neutrals and other cases?
As a beginner, I can not run detachment case, where I change type of neutral from none to mixed, frecycle = 0.8, in the BOUT.inp file of hermes-2/uedge-benchmark. For now, I do not understand the effects of many options in the BOUT.inp file.

Thank you.

How to specify sources of particles near the target plates?

In hermes-2 manual, chapter 9: simulation startup procedure, at the first step, "Start without any neutrals (neutral model = 0), specifying sources of particles near the target plates."

Could you tell me how to setup in BOUT.inp to specify sources of particles near the target plates?

Thank you.

BoutMesh failed to read ShiftAngle from the grid

Hello,

  1. I compile hermes-2 in BOUT++-v4.3.1, when i run uedge-benchmark case, error happens:
"BoutMesh failed to read ShiftAngle from the grid".
Then I copy grid file "cbm18_dens8.grid_nx68ny64_profiles.nc" from hermes-3, it can run successfully, so I think it is grid problem.

  2. the default case has no neutral, I want to try neutral case, so I change the BOUT.inp file: frecycle = 0.8 and type = recycling or diffusion2d, but it can not run. could you upload some cases with neutral?

  3. will you focus on hermes-3 in future work? now I can not compile hermes-3.

Thanks very much.

error when running uedge-benchmark case

I copy BOUT.inp from hermes-2/uedge-benchmark/case0 to hermes-2/uedge-benchmakr, and
in hermes-2, run: mpiexec -n 16 ./hermes-2 -d uedge-benchmark

The error info is shown below:

Could you help me? please.
