OK, I did some research and depending on whether you use cruncher of kolossus, the following line freezes the computer or not:
jobTreeTest_Dependencies.py --jobTree /inside/home/dzerbino/utils/jobTree/jobTree --logFile /inside/home/dzerbino/utils/jobTree/tempFileTree/tmp_yzqlh8Fwlm/tmp_qvqqq4Rc9g/tmp_pVh09PDZyp_comblog.txt --batchSystem 'singleMachine singleMachine 1000000' --tree comb --maxJobs 10 --maxThreads 100 --size 10 --cpusPerJob=1 --sleepTime 10
I checked that both sonLib and jobTree were updated correctly.

This appears to be related to a bug in the python multiprocessing queue object, I'm committing a fix.
