pyniscope's Issues

niScope.Scope only works in Python shell

I use a NI PXI-5152 which is referred as "PXI1Slot7" in my system.
The card is used in a Windows 7 32bit environment and I'm developing a program for that environment.

I installed pyniscope from here using setup.py.

The statement scope = niScope.Scope('PXI1Slot7') works in Python shell but not in Python scripts.
When run in scripts, it returns the following error:

Exception: Error BFFA4001.

Possible Reasons:
Software failure occurred during operation.

There used to be some Windows Firewall popup the first time I executed that statement. I tried turning off Windows Firewall for the entire system and running Python scripts as Administrator but problem persists.

Any idea?

Install stopped working?

On my fresh Anaconda3 setup (Windows 7), I first tried

pip install pyniscope

This seemed to go according to plan, installing version 0.4.0. However, when I did an import niscope, I wasn't able to access (e.g.) niscope.Scope().

I then followed the "Getting Started" wiki entry, and the command

python setup.py install

only worked when I changed "readme.rtl" to "readme.md" in setup.py.

I think this is a pretty easy fix (at least modifying setup.py). It'd be awesome if pip worked, too, to simplify the Wiki!

Cheers,
Jack
