Open source racecar telemetry & video platform - running on Raspberry PI and Arduino.

Our Peugeot 205 GTI hooked up with the telemetry kit

Objective

To live stream telemetry data and video from race cars driving around tracks over 100Mph.

The telemetry & video can come from:

• red5 blackbox
• red5 app on phone

Both devices (blackbox and iphone/android phones) have the following features:

• camera
• GPS
• accellerometer
• compass
• gyroscope

Current Status

Prototype number 1 validated the concept

red5's Issues

LevelDB based backend

Begin the what/where/when project with a very basic LevelDB timebased system.

This should record:

• car_id
• property
• timestamp
• value

So - the key will be

car_idpropertytimestamp

e.g.

red5longitude1928282892 = 1.22928

Voltage Regulator

Find on Farnell what kind of voltage regulator (power amps limit also) for our 5v rig OR what battery rig would work

We need the Rasberry PI to be booting and we need a repository for the image we boot for red5 projects
