I found a bug in the Affinity Designer templates: The Fill layers, used to color the icon mask background do not get antialiased.

Steps to reproduce

1. Hide the labels group
2. Now you should already see it.
3. Turn on 1x pixel preview and zoom in to make it more obvious.

Workarounds

• Color the icon masks layer directly and delete the two backgrounds inside
• Replace the two fill layers with colored vector rectangles

Bug Report

I also made a bug report in the Serif Forums, but I think that bug will have a low priority, because there seems to be no way to create fill layer other than by importing a photoshop document.

I'm using the App Icon - Apple iOS (Quick) template and the icon slice doesn't have a 40w -40 export.
This is the iPad Spotlight iOS 7-9 40pt 1x icon.

I also noticed that you need two copies (for iPad iPhone iOS 7.0 and later) of some of the sizes, 58, 80, and 120. Should the slice export two copies of these for you?

First of all, thanks for these templates, they are great. I am attempting to use the Illustrator Appleios template but it looks like no slices have been pre configured. Is this user error or is there a newer file that has the slices?

Thanks for sharing these tools! I noticed this line in the readme:

building for macOS may end up with an ICNS or TIFF file, undoing PNG optimisation

It is indeed an issue I faced while developing my app. However, I found a solution: instead of using the built-in iconutil tool from Apple, one can use this third-party createicns tool which does the same thing, except it will not recompress the icons, thus keeping the size savings. You can see in this diff how easy it is to switch from one tool to the other. Note that I'm talking about macOS. I'm not sure how this plays out for iOS.

I struggled a bit to find this tool, and I think it would benefit from more visibility 👍
