Resetting logical view on hover is annoying.
From Maria: "Also, every time I go back and hover over the Bay Area red circle, it resets the logical view which is annoying."
It is sort of irritating that whenever you want to zoom in on a zone, you automatically reset the logical view. Probably best to change the logical view update to trigger on a click instead of hover.
Reading traceroutes
Some servers are configured to not send icmp replies for ttl expirations. In these cases, traceroutes look like this:
a.b.c.d 25ms 35ms 25ms
e.f.g.h 35ms 45ms 37ms
Currently, the scripts I've written for parsing traceroute logs show no links in these cases. This makes the visualization ugly. Instead, changing visualization to directly connect a.b.c.d and e.f.g.h in these cases.
Add users
Track who submitted most links, etc.
Validate links?
Only display a link if more than X users have submitted it. Maybe allow higher level primitives. Eg., scope by link area, etc.
Add scoreboard for who submitted most links, etc.
Allow user to drag individual node in logical view
May be difficult.
Config file for setting default zoom + lat-long
In a config file, someone should be able to specify the default zoom level and lat/long expecting on the map.
