ember-mm's Issues

Why Does Ember Add an <originaltitle> Tag That is Identical to <title>?

Any reason why this is? If I remove the text manually in Ember (and it therefore shows the tag to be blank in ember) and have a look at the .nfo in notepad, the tag is written with the exact same info as <title>.

I'd prefer it if it showed what was actually written in the .nfo and I can then remove it if I choose to do so.

Ember crashes after renaming movie path

If i let ember scrape some files with auto renaming and moving movies into folders it creates the file, moves the movie and crashes when it tries to write the meta data - or short after. You can reproduce it with any file which will be automaticly renamed by ember.

Thumbnail Generation Fails on Select Movies

For select movies in my library, the automatic thumbnail generation feature will fail. For these movies, it will take quite a long time, almost appearing as if it hung. This has occurred for 10 out of 222 movies.

Of those 10, 9 use the H.264 codec, but the other uses the AVC1 codec. There are other movies in my library that use these codecs that were able to generate thumbnails.

This problem occurs both during automatic scraping and when using the function manually within the Edit Movie Frame Extraction tab.

credits tag not compatible with YAMJ

Even with YAMJ Compatibility option movie credit are rendered

<credits>Person A / Person B</credits>

when proper YAMJ format should be:

<credits>
    <writer>Person A</writer>
    <writer>Person B</writer>
</credits>

Incorrect Episode Listing

Hi Great project and thanks for keeping it going.

I have managed to narrow down an issue with the UI incorrectly showing the right tv episodes for a given season. This is most easily understood by looking at the following two links.

http://downloads.designdotworks.co.uk/incorrect-episode-listing-01.jpg
http://downloads.designdotworks.co.uk/incorrect-episode-listing-02.jpg

The first shows ember listing a season 05 under blackadder (when there is no such series) as well as episodes 2-12 inside this series.
The second shows ember listing a season 05 under dexter (correct so far) but only episode 1. The rest appear to end up under the blackadder seasons.

I have checked the ember sqlite database to make sure references are correct and all looks fine, each episode for dexter references the right show id etc and I can manually run the queries in the ember database api class to validate that it is returning what is the correct information. For clarities sake I have also attached my database.

http://downloads.designdotworks.co.uk/Media.emm

This appears to be an issue only in how the UI displays these listings as further investigation shows my scraped nfos are fine and XBMC finally picks up everything in season order with the correct episodes.

My library structure is relatively straight forward too.

..\tv shows
..\tv shows\dexter
..\tv shows\dexter\season 01
..\tv shows\dexter\season 01\s01e01.bluray.mkv
..\tv shows\dexter\season 01\s01e01.bluray.nfo
..\tv shows\dexter\season 01\s01e02.bluray.mkv
..\tv shows\dexter\season 01\s01e02.bluray.nfo
..\tv shows\dexter\season 01... [etc]
..\tv shows\dexter\season 02\s02e01.bluray.mkv
..\tv shows\dexter\season 02\s02e01.bluray.nfo
..\tv shows\dexter\season 02\s02e02.bluray.mkv
..\tv shows\dexter\season 02\s02e02.bluray.nfo
..\tv shows\dexter\season 02... [etc]

Hopefully this gives you enough information to track it down in the UI code, I tried sniffing around but I'm not familiar with the code and I use c# (been a while since I plunged into VB). I was looking at how the seasons data grid gets populated and filtered but again everything is indexed by integers so its a little difficult to browse. I can help if you need just point me in the right direction.

TV Show Episode Filename and Path Not Displayed

If you select a Movie you get the filename and path in the bottom status bar of the window. However for TV shows you don't get this. (It's useful for figuring out what episode a show is when the scraping fails and sets the episode and season to strange values.)

Wrong links and outdated infos on wiki-page and this github-repo

Please see this wiki-page http://wiki.embermediamanager.org/index.php?title=Download

  1. In the left pane: "Ember Forum". This link points to the xbmc-forum but is currently correct redirected. Please update it so it doesn't need to redireced.
  2. In the left pane: "Ember Bug Tracker". This link is dead.
  3. In the left pane: "Repository on GitHub" points not to a repository but to a person. And the persons (Dan Copper) Ember-Repository is (forked from yours) but extremly out-dated.
  4. The infos about downloading Ember. 1.3 is last stable but not supported. 1.4 is Beta. Isn't there a stable and supported release currently? In the forum I foudn infos about 1.7 and 1.8. Very confusing. A new user woudl assume to find correct informations on embers official project website.

Please see this repository. On top of the main-site is a link to a dead project website.

Currently there is no way for a new user where is the current/freshesed and active repository and where to find a stable release.

Missing prjects for 2.0 trunk

I downloaded the 2.0 trunk to see if we can work with it but there are three projects missing.

You should add them or the solution does not work

Versioning

Please consider bumping this to v1308. There are a lot of v1307s floating around and users are getting pretty confused as to which one is the most recent.

Saved images are always re-compressed

As seen here: http://ember.purplepig.net/issues/103

Every fanart / poster etc. which is scraped will always be recompressed. It's significantly smaller and with noticable artifacts.

I've located the problem and it's in "clsAPIImages.vb" (EmberAPI). The function which creates the new JPG is Public Sub Save(ByVal sPath As String, Optional ByVal iQuality As Long = 0). The quality of the cached images can be altered by iQuality but still always recompresses the image. It can be fixed by recreate the save routines. To scrape all fanarts / posters the function DownloadFile(downloadLink, savePath) can be used to download them and FileCopy(SourceFile, DestinationFile) to copy the selected files from cache to the movie folder. So nothing is recompressed.
