cervantes's Issues

email client anyone?

Has anyone tried using alpine or other email client? I could read/write emails on the bus, then send them upon arrival...

roundcube works on the default browser, but it sure is improvable, and it does not work offline.

I should add I haven't installed the hacker stack yet...

Load custom fonts

I couldn't find this anywhere, sorry if it's been explained elsewhere. Is there a way to load custom fonts without activating developer mode? Cheers!

Anyway to update the reader?

Hi,

I have a cervantes bq light and I'm experiencing some problems like random page breaks. Is there anyway to setup a system to correct the issue and update my reader?

Working on Cervantes 4?

I'm wondering if the firmware is able to run on the bq Cervantes 4? In addition, I'ld appreciate if the developer(s) could add a list of devices on which this firmware runs to the README file.

Invert black/white

Hi, would it be feasible to add an option to change the display so it's white letters on black background?
From what I've read it would eat more battery but will be more comfortable to read in the dark.

Bug starting sesion in Nubico on Cervantes 4

Hello,

I just got a Cervantes 4 and I have noticed several bugs.

First. When I try to activate the device...

  • The first Nubico screen is in spanish even I selected english as my language. It is just a minor detail since I understand spanish, but I thought it is nice to report it
  • If I try to "Activar sin tienda", nothing happens and it comes back to the same screen
  • When I go to "Enlazar tienda" and I type my email/password nothing happens. I created a fresh account and I cannot login from the device, I can however login from the web browser so the email/password combination works. However on the device it waits some time and it gets to the same screen.

I have another question also, maybe this is not the right place but you can point me to the right place. I read of some users having problems with the screen and BQ wanting to charge EUR 100 to fix it since the screen is not apparently in the warranty. There are many complains about this issue in Amazon for instance. I would like to make sure if it is or not in the warranty. I just got the product and I have 14 days to try it out. So far due to the bugs I found my experience seems rather frustrating even though I think it has great potential. You cleverly included the well known Kobo Clara HD hacks like external card out of the box without need to open the device which is awesome.

Thanks.

CBR or RAR reader

Could be possible to have a version to read cbr or rar files in the CERVANTES e-reader?.
Do you need any special hardware or it is just software?

This would be a great functionality.

Unable to build

I've done the following:
Installed ubuntu 12.04.5 in VM
updated to latest packages
downloaded and extracted sdk
cloned cervantes git
installed
exported needed vars
./build.sh -hackers -disable_adobe

QBookApp requires a bootstrap version >= 210 and current version is 0
Please, update your bqbuild scripts, re-generate the bootstrap and update whole ROOTFS in the DEVICE
