Chrome 31 running on iPad 3 with iOS7.0.4 and all updates installed. It doesn't crush using Safari while Chrome and Safari share the same engine on iPad.

Google Chrome lacks access to the Nitro Javascript engine that Safari uses on iDevices.

Demo crashed safari for me first time round. Using safari on iPhone 4S ios7.0.4 with about 15 tabs open.
I loaded up safari again, refreshed and it worked perfectly.
This script is so awesome! Even better then what I was looking for. Thank you!
Will try and do some memory profiling tomo.

Seems to be working just fine. Closing for now until I can repro. This may have happened when the library was still using ColorThief.
