to recreate the issue I used this:
`from swinlnk.swinlnk import SWinLnk

target = '\\CFTBG-FS01\CUSTOMERS\DAY\_Final Docs\CO-0000131_1 docs'
shortcut = 'C:\BACKUP\console\customers.lnk'
swl = SWinLnk()
swl.create_lnk(target, shortcut)`

if I check the properties of the created shortcut the target is:
"\Cftbg-fs01\customers\DAY_Final Doc\CO-0000131_1 docs"
which is missing an "s"

a work around that I found was putting an space after "Docs" or an extra s Ex. "Docss"

any ideas?

At least in Windows, in shortcut you can select not only target path in quotes, but also execution arguments right after target
like "path/to/python" -m "path\to\myscript".
At this moment, such behaviour could be achieved using inner quotes (link_target=f'{python_path}" -m "{my_script_path}')
This looks like hack. Can you add additional parameter for such purpose?

Unfortunately .lnk files created with swinlnk do not keep references if the target file is renamed or moved as it does for .lnk files created from the windows file browser.
