Generated .desktop file icon path is pointing to the '.cache' directory, which is automatically emptied on restart, log-out or when a certain amount of time passes (also cleared when BleachBit runs).
Instead it should have been pointing to ~/.local/share/icons/.png.

Although not a strict requirement, it is best practice to follow naming guidelines for AppImage files:
AppName-X.X.X.glibc2.XX-x86_64.AppImage. The glibc part shows which glibc is the oldest one the AppImage can still run on.

Please bundle JRE properly. AppImages must contain everything that cannot reasonably expected to be part of every target system.

dBeaver, in contrast, is working.

AppImages should contain update information for AppImageUpdate, and there should be zsync files.

appimagetool can do that for you. See the options

  -u, --updateinformation     Embed update information STRING; if zsyncmake is installed, generate zsync file
  --bintray-user              Bintray user name
  --bintray-repo              Bintray repository

This allows for neat tricks like this.
