readme's Issues

Engineering Values

Hey there @kiriappeee! I think you've worked on something similar in the past,

I'd love to see our Engineering Values documented here. I feel this is a chance to define and share them with everyone!

Code of Conduct

Heya @KatieLo! I was looking forward adding out Code of Conduct. Right now we also have it in another repository. Curious if we want to duplicate it, keep it there or move it under this repository.

Happy to take care of anything, just want to get your thoughts!

Eng Management

  • what EMs are typically responsible for
  • what director of engineering, management is responsible for
  • EM tools & resources:
    • How to efficiently schedule meetings

Document update statuses

What's not great

Right now there are a bunch of different update statuses that can be returned from the API. It would be great to document all of these and what they mean. We use a couple of them to determine when a video is being trans-coded etc.

Why this is confusing

We'd love to define these statuses in our models so we can avoid using strings. We can do so now using the ones we know about but would be amazing to account for all of them.

  • sent
  • notified
  • draft
  • buffer
  • error
  • gif_transcoding

Security

  • Managing Sensitive Data
    • Please use 1TimeSecret
    • Please use a password Manager like 1Password (you can expense this!)
    • Adnan has a encryption tool for other things
    • Make sure data that could identify individual users (names, emails, twitter handles, etc) is never stored on your local machine

AWS Key Rotations

  • Adnan to document the ideal process. Teams Document the QA
  • Teams are responsible for their own key rotation
  • Teams document their own key process following Adnan's template
  • Adnan is accountable that keys get regularly rotated. He'll be emailing you!

Document oauth callback urls & app settings in general

What's not great

Would be great to have some information on where this information is and how to get to it. Eg for Twitter, Facebook, and all the networks we support, they often have a bunch of settings that may or may not be relevant but can be useful & important in some circumstances.

Also, not just where it is and how to get to it, but who has access, since not everyone has access to all the various apps across all the networks.

Why this is confusing

Not confusing, just missing.

(Bonus!) What would be better?

• Management panel: Those who have access to the admin section according to the database can manage many features and accesses
• Category: All products are categorized and can be changed and edit through the admin panel
• Search: For the convenience of users, we created a search panel so that the user can search by applying filters between products

Stack Technology-
• c #
• RazorPages
• sql server (database backup file named Janko is available in the project file. Please implement the backup file on your sql server)

Installation-
Note: You need 2 Visual Studio and sqlserver software to run the project
• 1] refer to the path / folder which project saved on your device.

Buffer web workers

What's not great

We're currently migrating the buffer-web repo to k8s, and people working on it need to get up to speed

Why this is confusing

We now have utilities workers deployed to 2 different environments.
