this is a test repository for using s dev container with vscode and docker

dockertest3

Instructions

1. clone this repository to your local environment
2. make sure docker desktop is installed and running
3. make sure vs code has the "Docker" and "Dev Containers" extentions are installed
4. open the project in vs code
5. click the popup to reopen in container
6. wait for the container to build and be up and running
7. cd into the "app" folder in the container terminal
8. (optional) run "npm run seedDB" to seed the database with data. WARNING: This command will wipe the database before seeding it
9. run "npm run dev"
10. go to localhost:3000 and localhost:8081
11. fill-in the test form after you click save the data should show up below the form

BONUS localhost:8081 is the mongo-db gui for development, you can go in there and see the data in the mongo database
