Group project with goal to learn new technology, we chose global state management with Context.API and built out an app in 8 days. The app will keep track of wins and games played over game nights with friends, to save time arguing over who is the best.

Chore: form error handling

Validate inputs to disable submitting without all inputs filled in.

Chore: Make the hamburger button go to a dropdown

As a general user, I can delete/clear sessions.

Acceptance criteria:

• Homepage includes well-placed button to clear out all saved local storage sessions
• Clicking the button removes all game nights from the grid & zeroes out the overall standings

Extension criteria:

• Each game night session has a button that can be clicked to delete just that session. This will remove the corresponding scores from the overall standing.

Testing: test all elements & user flows

Import Cypress

As a general user, I can see all game night sessions as cards in a grid.

Acceptance criteria:

• All past & current game night sessions should display in a grid. Information about the session (date, location, games played & winners) should be visible
• These sessions should persist on page reload
• Each session should have sufficient, consistent & clear styling

Extension: Add an x to clear out individual game nights

As a general user, I can add games & winners to my current game night after filling out the form

• Game night card (generated from form) has new section to add games played & a winner
• Clicking submit adds game image & winner to game night card
• Form & games played should be styled nicely

As a general user, I can add a new game night, inputting customized information.

Acceptance criteria:

• Form on homepage has inputs for date, location & players (separated by comma).
• Proper error handling is in place to not accept incomplete submissions
• Clicking submit button results in game night displaying below form
• Game night card displays information from inputs
• Form is styled nicely

Improvements:

• Date input type. Restrict the future, auto-fill current date?

Refactor: GamesPageContainer (redundant Games component)

As a general user, I can see overall standing statistics.

Acceptance criteria

• Near top of homepage by form, top 3 overall standings display
• Generated by tallying up overall wins across all game nights

Chore: 404 & 500-level error handling

Chore: Make each page responsive on mobile

As a user viewing the About page, I can read a general overview on the app/reason for building it.
