I see that the latest commit is from September 2021, setting the version to 0.2.
According to the plans, the in-situ components and the visualization will come in later releases.
Are there any plans to continue this project?

MED offers an in-memory API for exchange of data, and the in-memory interface can also persist to a file. I believe it is currently limited to 2nd order elements. It may be most similar to FMS in intended workflows to support, so the README should compare in terms of scope/audience.

I have a couple of questions:

1. What visualization tools read this format or are actively being enhanced to read this format?
2. Is there or will there be support for Discontinuous Galerkin fields?

The current FMS data structures may be flexible enough to hold the required additional data, however, a specification of what specifically the data looks like is needed.
