liveboot's Issues

LICENSE file confuses GitHub license detection logic

You have posted a GPL license notice into a license file. It is incorrect. Instead license file must contain an unmodified text of the license. The license notice should be put into some source code file. After that GitHub should detect the license correctly.

[OnePlus 6T] boot animation overrides Liveboot

I installed this on a OnePlus 6T (Oxygen OS 11.1.2.2), and I see the liveboot text for a second in the very beginning, but shortly after there's the OnePlus animation shown for most of the boot :(
I then see another short flash of liveboot text before asked to enter my pin.

Is there a method to override this animation? A different installation method or a config file?
Or is it a bug in this software?

Android 14 Support

Looks like Google broke something again with the release of Android 14!

Android 12 Support?

Are there plans to update LiveBoot to support Android 12? I've been trying to dig through the code to figure out how I could make it work, but I have not made any progress.

Version 1.92 unable to run on my Android 10

I get the error when I run /data/user_de/0/eu.chainfire.liveboot/files/test:

java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: android.view.SurfaceControl.setSize [int, int]
        at java.lang.Class.getMethod(Class.java:2072)
        at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredMethod(Class.java:2050)
        at R.b.m(SourceFile:1)
        at R.b.run(SourceFile:60)
        at V.d.main(SourceFile:42)
        at com.android.internal.os.RuntimeInit.nativeFinishInit(Native Method)
        at com.android.internal.os.RuntimeInit.main(RuntimeInit.java:338)

1.84 doesn't have the problem.

New android 14 update possibly causing crashes

I updated to the release version from xda after the debug one worked from another issue here (thank you chainfire!) and then after almost a day I started having multiple crashes and reboots that were seemingly random and the only new app/mod was liveboot and after I uninstalled it and it stopped rebooting randomly. I know how to record logcats but don't they get erased on boot? So idk how id save one from a crash

I'm on stock rooted OnePlus oos 14 NA version

Please advise and I'll do whatever you want for me to collect but I won't be able to answer for about 12hrs just started a road trip with liveboot uninstalled and it's been stable the past hour with no reboots since uninstall

Cannot uninstall liveboot

I can't seem to uninstall liveboot after installing it

Screenshot_20240406-054749_LiveBoot

As you can see, the uninstall option is grayed out

I'm on Android 14

Boot stages and Error Logs instead of whole dmesg/logcat

To make it a little more useful and more unix-like: I think it would be better if you only see the successful boot stages in a systemd style and ofc. all error messages. At the current version, there are so many messages, that you can't read them all.

That means like so: (Image from Wikipedia)

There was already a discussion about this in the "symbuzzer/livebootmodule" repository.
