uselethminer's Issues

Question: Failover and difficulty

every time i start it on windows, for ethermine, i see the next line:
[2022-02-08 21:54:22][[email protected]:14444(0)][AUTHORIZE] username:username
[2022-02-08 21:54:23][FAILOVER] Switching to [email protected]:14444, priority 0

does that mean something failed?

Also, when the client sets difficulty, i think it's setting an incredibly high difficulty value ( first launch gives always over 2586 s/a, that's half an hour for the first hash) is this given by the pool, or is there any "built-in" default? could it be changed, if so?

Feature request: Report hashrate to the pool

I noticed that while my other miners report the hashrate to the pool Useleth is not. That would help following the mining.
Another minor thing would be to have a possibility to display MH/s on the console output instead of h/s.

Issue connecting for devfee

Hi there, I'm starting to get some errors when the miner tries to connect for the dev fee. Keep having to restart the process, wondering if the connection to your account is offline for some reason?

Possible GPU support on Intel Macs?

Also wanted to chime in that I was able to get huge pages on my intel Mac. Late 2020 iMac on Mac OS Monterey.

These are the numbers I'm getting. But barely registering on unmineable.

I know nothing about coding. Would it be possible to use the GPU on intel Macs, like on apple silicon Macs? I know XMRIG is able to mine using the KAWPOW algorithm with the GPU on intel Macs.

Frequest disconnection, normal ?

Hi, have a M1 Pro MBP with 16GB RAM. Just started using this miner on it. I see frequent disconnection, is this impacting the shares submitted ?

Is it possible to mine ETC Ethereum Classic

When I try mining Ethereum Classic it connects and it looks like it's mining but i always get 100% stale shares.

Am i doing something wrong or is it not capable of mining ETC?

aarch64 linux?

I checked and couldn't find an answer, was wondering is it possible to provide aarch64/arm64 linux build? I just generally want to run the proxy there only, since it is not a mining machine. Thanks.

dual mine with ZIL and ETH

I was wondering if possible to do dual mining.
ZIL uses proxy server so you "mine" to their pool using as password the eth address and pool url

here is a ZIL pool with various miner setups: https://shardpool.io/

Uselethminer stopped working/hashing on Macbook Pro M1 Max

@Chainfire Uselethminer has been working perfectly fine until yesterday when I had to stop it and restart but when i did it completely stopped hashing/working. The settings i've been using have been working great but when i launch the miner now it doesn't do anything.

Hoping someone can help

Command recipes and M1 Max optimization

Hello and thank you for this incredible project.
I wanted to ask for clarification on command recipes for Apple Silicon.

The command I've settled on:
/usr/local/uselethminer/uselethminer 0x07D91907b1F0F78591C2E3291ed87E465Bd1Eaa8.eth-us-east1@nanopool.org:9433 -t 10 -fg metal -f armv8af

Idles like below while CPU/GPU are not being used according to benchmarks. What am I missing?

UselethMiner v0.23
[SYSTEM] Apple M1 Max, 10 threads, arm64, 64 GB RAM
[CFETHASH][CPU] Selecting: ARMv8A (Full) (from commandline)
[CFETHASH][GPU] Selecting: Metal (from commandline)
[CONTROLLER][RPC] Listening on 127.0.0.1:3326

Perhaps it's the mining pool? But thought I'd ask for advice here.

Also, should we be specifying thread counts or will the UselethMiner leverage as many as possible automatically?
(I noticed Arm is said to be 64 but the M1 instructions have size set to 88.)

Which file to run

I am confused on which file to run inside of the extracted folder from the zip on windows. The exe file opens a terminal but instantly crashes. If someone could help me that would be great.

Feature request: unit scaling

I know it's a bit of a commodity request, but would it be possible to turn h/s into kh/s, mh/s and so on?

I 100% did not almost use a sharpie to mark the comma position on my M1 screen

Connecting to SparkPool

Hi, I am wanting to give your miner a try but am having trouble connecting it to the Sparkpool.

This is what I have been trying:
.\uselethminer.exe [walletAddress].[machineID]@eth-us.sparkpool.com:3333 -t 6,8,90 --flavor avx2_intel

seems to get stuck at "Listening on 127.0.0.1:3326"

I am on a school network so not sure if you know if using your proxy to get around the issue would help or not.

Connection lost when mining to hiveon

I have a M1 MAX and I am trying to use eth.hiveon.com:4444 and I receive the following message and error:

[2022-06-30 23:46:35][[email protected]:4444(0)] Connected
[2022-06-30 23:46:35][[email protected]:4444(0)] Connection lost

I am using the following command:
/usr/local/uselethminer/uselethminer [email protected]:4444 --flavor-gpu metal --flavor armv8af --mine

I have turned logging on but it does not help me understand what might be going wrong. I can mine to herominers using the following command:

/usr/local/uselethminer/uselethminer [email protected]:1147 --flavor-gpu metal --flavor armv8af --mine

Segmentation fault: 11 on M1 Macbook Pro/Mac Mini

When flagged to use GPU mining with Metal, it will error out. CPU works appropriately. Was tested on both the base M1 MB Pro and Mac Mini. Logs:

TLS support request

Hi, thank you for this awesome miner! Do you have plans to add TLS support soon? It is quite important for those with censored/restricted network.

v0.22 difference

I noticed the following pattern in the console output

Notice the [ERROR] reply for invalid PoW solution. This has happened several times since upgrading to v0.22 earlier today and did not happen prior to v0.22

Is this expected behaviour?

M1 Pro 16GB, etc.

Hi! I saw your miner and i test it with my new M1 Pro with 16GB ram. It seems that can do consistent 7.5MHs while ethminer is scoring 5MHs. Also with TG Pro and 100% fan speed the cpu temps are <=80°. At 70% rpm is around 85°.
Im a programmer (js ecosystem-node) but i have no knolowge of c, opencl, metal but if you need/want some testing i can help, just for fun.

Great work and thanks!

OG M1 FYI

Docs say:
To enable GPU mining with Metal, add --flavor-gpu metal parameters. To disable CPU mining, add --flavor none parameters.

This was tested on an AS M1 Max. I fully expect it to work on an M1 Pro. No idea about the original M1.

This does work on the original M1 Mini. Seems to require fixed thread count. crashes with dynamic thread configuration. CPU limiting????

I bumped fan speed to 2900 RPM to keep the CPU temp below 80C. Running 7 threads and streaming Netflix works just fine.

Well done and thank you.
