Users can register, login and create articles which other users can comment, like/dislike and rate. A user can also follow other users.

- python 3
- postgreSQL as database engine
- pipenv
- clone the repository
$ git clone https://github.com/andela/ah-shakas.git
- cd into the directory
$ cd ah-shakas
- Run pipenv
$ pipenv install
- After dependencies are installed, run the virtual environment
$ pipenv shell
- create environment variables On Unix or MacOS, run:
$ touch .env
open .env file and enter your corresponding database details as follows
export DB_NAME=name of your database
export DB_USER=username you use to access the database
export DB_PASSWORD=your password
export DB_HOST=host url of your database e.g localhost
export EMAIL_HOST=your email host
export EMAIL_HOST_USER=your username on the mail host
export EMAIL_HOST_PASSWORD=password
export EMAIL_PORT=587
Note: There is no space next to '='
on terminal,
$ source .env
On windows, enter your corresponding database details on terminal as follows
$ set DB_NAME=name of your database
$ set DB_USER=username you use to access the database
$ set DB_PASSWORD=your password
$ set DB_HOST=host url of your database e.g localhost

- make migrations
$ python manage.py makemigrations
$ python manage.py migrate
- Run the application
python manage.py runserver
- Testing the application
