To compile,

javac -d ./bin -sourcepath ./src -cp gluonj.jar src/*/*.java

and to run, for example,

java -cp ./bin:gluonj.jar chap6/Runner

Should the type of c2 be char?

stone/src/stone/Lexer.java

Line 89 in a93f5d1

int c2 = s.charAt(i + 1);

Since charAt() returns char, I think the line should be:
char c2 = s.charAt(i + 1);

Not run on JDK 14

chap6.Runner throws an exception:

java.lang.IllegalAccessError: class jdk.internal.reflect.MethodAccessorImpl loaded by javassist.gluonj.util.Loader cannot access jdk/internal/reflect superclass jdk.internal.reflect.MagicAccessorImpl

This would be because JDK 14's module system enforces strict access control rules.
A workaround is to use JDK 8 or JDK 11 (maybe with --illegal-access=warn).
