Replacement firmware for various keyboards (Kinesis, Ergodox) using an Atmel AVR microcontroller
Does this firmware provide the behaviour of "Oneshot modifier and modifier with tapping feature" provided by the TMK firmware as mentioned at https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard/?
If only that then this seems the ideal choice for my ErgoDox.
Also, if anyone were to make a modded version of the ErgoDox with less/more keys, would it be relatively simple to adapt this firmware for that too?
Hi,
While I'm a software developer, I haven't worked at this level before so I apologize upfront if this is a dumb or stupid question.
Possibly my biggest complaint about the Kinesis is that I don't have an onscreen display for remapping keys. I have a Kinesis Advantage Pro Keyboard (Model #: KB510USB-met).
Would this firmware allow me to do this out of the box, or do I need to modify my keyboard before I can use the firmware? It was a little unclear to me after reading the readme.
Would appreciate any help/guidance.
The documentation claims that checkKey and checkPhysKey return void, but also states that they return 1 or 0.
the schematic is there can i get a BOM for the components ? thank you
need it for the kinesis advantage 2.5
thank you .. just a simple part id (on the board) corresponds to which real part to be bought thn mcu is a atm34u4 i know that but what about the rest ?
I have installed those libusb-packeges:
libusbmuxd2
libusb-dev
libusb-1.0-0-dev
libusb-1.0-0
libusb-0.1-4
libhidapi-libusb0
than i run qmake, and make and start "KeyboardClient". But I see only the Message: No Keyboard selected, …but there is no Keyboard you could select.
If I start from CMD, I see the message: LIBUSBError when enumerating: LIBUSB_ERROR_ACCESS
If I enter:
sudo ./KeyboardClient
I got:
Error: "/var/tmp/kdecache-suther" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
LIBUSBError when enumerating: LIBUSB_ERROR_INVALID_PARAM
Seems to be kind of permission-problem. But I doesn't found any Group which I could add to my Sysadmin-Account to got this libusb permissions.
Please describe, which LIBUSB-Packege is need on (K)ubuntu 14.04 or how to start, to got this GUI to found Keyboards.
Thanks a lot.
Does this firmware allow separate mapping of the shifted layer?
For example, say I want to remap:
Key1: [ {
Key2: ] }
to
Key1: [ ]
Key2: { }
Is it possible to get instructions for loading a compiled firmware onto a Kinesis keyboard? Does this require burning a microchip or is the Kinesis chip reprogrammable?
