There's no need to make an extra HTTP request when the markdown file could be inlined during the build step. Worst case, this would simply be inserting the .md file as a string into the bundle, and being rendered into HTML by React in the best case.

Hopefully there's a way to do this without ejecting from create-react-app. I think I remember seeing an issue about including raw-loader in CRA, which would be perfect.
