zooms 4 to 10/11.
zoom 9/10 are highest priority.
Other zooms just have offset issues (though missing entirely outside of North America)
from OSM. Use same styling as z9 Natural Earth admin-1 dashed lines.
transparent "nature reserve", other green areas not, two layers, two styles.
We're still seeing double label offset funk in places like 14th Street in Oakland.
zooms 4 to 10/11.
zoom 9/10 are highest priority.

See Lake Tahoe and DC, NY areas.
Arlington Nat'l Cemetery is missing in DC
Similar size selections as parks, but for a few more zooms out
Zooms 6/7ish.
progressive filter to allow more small lakes till all are shown at z12/z13
Cities (z4 to z7 for each continent, points and labels)
admin-0 (z4 to z6)
admin-1(z4 to z7)
Airports (one file)
roads (multiple files)
They collide with the Dymo city labels. They need to be separated.
Create label points for each. Run them thru Dymo to get the label polygons. Move the polygons around in QGIS to fit. Add to MML and MSS files.
to match their transparent line symbolization. Blackwall Tunnel in London looks particularly weird labeled over building footprints.
add a touch of cartographic realism.
Dotspotting allowed the map to zoom in past 18, but we didn't render tiles due to a Stylesheet limitation. Oops.
z15 and z17 are fine. Blackwall Tunnel in London.
Optimize for Europe, Australia, and Japan at zoom 7, perhaps 8.
Parks in San Francisco were looking particularly odd when their bounds technically extended offshore.
The old mapnik dir README.md file says the MML wasn't checked in before (with .gitignore file property).
The MML doesn't have any passwords in it. Therefore, there is more benefit to including the MML than not.
Rebuild city-zooms data structure from: https://github.com/migurski/HighRoad.
Some cities have tons of building footprints in OSM, be mindful of pattern overload.
just a smidge
DC circles and NYC Hudson tunnels and London tunnels.
Fix z15 (gone, were visible in z14, correct in z16, use z16 for z15)
Fix z17+ (gone, use z16, though the z17+ labels are there, but not all tunnels (see DC) are missing, they are black).
They collide with the Dymo city labels. They need to be separated.
Create label points for each. Run them thru Dymo to get the label polygons. Move the polygons around in QGIS to fit. Add to MML and MSS files.
Also consider the admin-1 labels.
Thin out compilation (the new 1.5 NE roads include new ScaleRank values)
z7 is solid. z8+ didn't have admin-1 lines before. Dashed line style allow this boundary type to contrast with the road treatments.
Keep the bold look longer.
thicken in z8
add in z9 (it's in z10)
See Germany example near Berlin.
Added codes to OSM data. Will be available on new OSM import to PostGIS.
Added flags in MSS to accommodate that future eventuality.

These two layers depend on the Yandex table:
poi-station-labels < necessary
osm-place-points < depreciated
This is likely because the copy of OSM on server 1 is older than on server 2.
Changing these reference to
<!ENTITY project_host "localhost">
<!ENTITY project_port "5432">
<!ENTITY project_name "yandex">
<!ENTITY project_user "yandex">
<!ENTITY project_pass "">
To be osm_host, etc will likely resolve itself on server 2.
These two types don't render in Oakland, California where San Pablo Avenue dead ends into Frank Ogawa Plaza.
highway: pedestrian << show as "other" at z15+
highway: unclassified << show as minor road z13+
Cities (z4 to z7 for each continent)

admin-1(z4 to z7)

Just a smattering.
particularly empty around London, Moscow, outside of US.
Perhaps use Mike's population attribute trick from Terrain series?
problem: OSM jumps up the density quite quickly in US.
zooms 4 to 10/11.
zoom 9/10 are highest priority.
Other zooms just have offset issues (though missing entirely outside of North America)
z8/9 and more detailed
These are important in urban environments that cross state jurisdictions like Washington DC.
Can we filter OSM roads to only display outside of North America?
