Not working with new Xamarin Studio 6.1

Hello Oren,

Thanks for this sample solution which indeed works on Windows / VS 2015 update 3, I've just verified it.

Alas, it doesn't seem to work anymore with Xamarin Studio 6.1 (just released yesterday).
I get all kind of errors.
Was it working with previous XS 6.0?

It seems that the XamFormsSample portable library fails to build because it is not having the needed references. Trying to add them manually fails too as no package is listed there.

And, the XamFormsSample.iOS fails to reference the XamFormsSample portable library with the error: "Incompatible target framework: .NET Portable, version=v5.0"

Can you confirm?
Should I file a bug to Xamarin?
Is there any temporary workaround?

UWP project still using old json

After reviewing the project, I noticed the UWP project doesn't use

<CopyNuGetImplementations>true</CopyNuGetImplementations>
<RestoreProjectStyle>PackageReference</RestoreProjectStyle>

So it falls back to use the project.json , is this intentional?

Also, it could be great to have this example as a VS2017 project template...

Android error APT0000: Attribute "..." has already been defined

Thanks for this sample and the accompanying blog post; I've gotten much closer to XamForms netstandard after finding it! :)

Just tried to build with VS2017 (Version 15.2 (26430.13) Release) with a fresh clone of the repo and get the error in the issue description (same error with my own project). Just wondering if this is due to recent VS/Xamarin updates, or if it is unique to my install. Here's a snippet of the output log:

When trying to compile the sample (I am using VS2017), lots of "No resource found that matches the given name" compiler errors are generated for the .Droid project for the styles.xml file:
