Add a Safety Column to our CIA Column Set
The goal is to allow a user of the matrix to filter based on controls that are applicable to safety.
Deploy an inventory management system (asset/inventory database) and record details about each IoT device in inventory. Use this inventory management system to track the hardware, software/firmware, network configurations and location of each device. This includes: ... - device name - the Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) that hosts the device - device physical location - IP address of the device - MAC address, software/firmware version data - vendor detailsassociated Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) - communication protocols - whether the device includes cellular capability - firmware and patch status - application/library versions - lost or decommissioned status - whom the device is assigned
Transition to Edge Computing
Review entire content of framework and guide; identify areas where we should address edge computing. This will focus on data processing at the edge (vs sending everything to the cloud). May also include additional components required to support edge devices.
Mapping Issues to Control IDs
We need to figure out a way to link issues directly to one or more control IDs. @scriptingxss any thoughts on how best to do this?
Add a Shared Responsibility Model to the Matrix
This may be implemented as a new tab in the matrix.
Review of IoT Framework
Sometimes IoT devices may have duplicate MAC addresses if not manufactured by only one manufacturer (assembled in parts). The controls assume a unique MAC address per device? How the issue of duplicate address is handled?
Test Issue
Per IOTWG call, creating test issue.
