Dahkron's Elite:Dangerous Binds

Rationale

There are three role specific modifier buttons. A is for combat, B is for ui and X is for utilities. That way there's one less thing for me to think about and I just know that for example holding A yields combat related actions (targeting, hardpoints, weapon groups, etc).

Y has one single purpose, which is to target ahead.

Installing

  1. Start → Run → %LOCALAPPDATA%
  2. Go to Frontier Developments → Elite Dangerous → Options → Bindings
  3. Copy Dahkron-Xbox.binds or Dahkron-PS4.binds into Bindings folder (right click and save either of these links)
  4. Run Elite, go to controls options and select it from the preset menu

  • FLIGHT LANDING OVERRIDES: Added Forward and Backward Thrust on dpad_up and down

  • MODE SWITCHES > AUTO FOCUS ON TEXT INPUT FIELD: off (was on)
  • UPTHRUSTBUTTON: keyboard binding was W►up S►down now is R►up F►down
  • Added keyboard bindings for WINGMAN and NAV LOCK (7890-)
  • Rearranged the XML to match the order the game wants. Now it's easier to use a diff-tool

  • Added a PS4 binds file (thanks to my mate Jon!)

  • Moved jettison cargo to A+X+RThumb as it conflicted with ship lights on the same binding. Ship lights are X+RThumb. This puts all the 'smuggle' type actions together on A+X.
  • Added A+X+LBumper and A+X+RBumper to set thrust to 0 and 75% respectively.
  • Removed the crosshair. Sorry, it bugged me. You can turn it on again by switching on 'Show mouse widget' in the control options after you've loaded the preset.

[PS4] Not showing up in presets

I used this preset before when I used an xbox controller and I loved it, recently decided to get back into the game but i'm using a PS4 controller now. I did everything that was instructed and the preset will not show up no matter what I try. I'd rather not have to try and manually setup the controls if I can help it, as I don't want to assign the wrong things. Is there any way you can see what's going on with it? The other premade presets show up, but not this one.

why have you forsaken us?!? /s

any plans on making a update to the current control scheme for either the xbox or DS4 controllers or is this project dead in the water? would love to use these again since binding is very hard for me to get right i use keyboard and mouse now but im missing the ds4 controls a lot.

Binds for mass lock

I can't seem to find any controller binds for mass lock, I'm not entierly sure if I'm missing something.

No controls for Buggy

There\s no binding for accelerator in the planet surface vehicle (dune buggy). The default uses triggers on Advanced Gamepad.

PS4 Version Needs to be updated to latest game version

When I add the PS4 version to my game and then select it in game the game changes the file, I presume to try to update the file to work with the latest version of the game, then it renames the file by adding "1.8" to the name, it also adds a few new lines to the file, but it seems that the game is unable to update the file because after I apply it and go to the game none of the key binds are set. The xbox version seems to still work because the key binds still show unlike the PS4 version. I have tried to update the PS4 version myself but I can not seem to get it to work, so if you could PLEASE update the binds files for the latest version of the game? I realize that you have most likely moved on from this game since the project hasn't been updated for a long time so if you are able to find the time to work on it then it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for all the hard work that you have already put into this project and any more that you might put into it.

New Exploration Keybinds

The latest update created a bunch of new keybinds for exploration including ones to change cockpit mode and night vision.

XB1 binds not showing up in presets

Just got the game and someone recommended your presets to me for use with my XBONE controller. Followed the instructions to the letter and no matter what i'm doing the presets are not showing up. There is a file in the folder called "BindingLoadingErrors" inside the file it says:

There where errors when loading preset file: Dahkron-Xbox.binds
parsing XML, line 44: not well-formed (invalid token)

I'm not sure what is going on or why they're not showing up.
