Generalize the app

This is low priority, but it would be great to create a way to brand and spin up a similar app for any type of community geo-enabled documentation project.

Design improvements

Improve the design and consistency of things like buttons, fonts, etc. Make it look more professional.

Integrate Machine Learning work for auto-identifying ashes based on leaf shape/patterns

We need to look at integrating the machine learning work that @colstat started so we can try to get the app to auto-identify ash trees based on leaf shape.

Improve the interface for the municipality to use the data.

We need to do some user research here. How does the city plan to use the data in practice?

Gamify the App

We want to be able to verify crowdsourced data, as well as older data that needs to be brought up to date. One way to do this is to "gamify" this app so that there are different incentives for 1) collecting and 2) validating data. Perhaps one starts as a "Collector" but can "level-up" to a "Validator" once they pass some threshold of consistently identifying ash trees.

Allow users to authenticate with Google, Twitter, or Facebook logins

Prevent spam. This means integrate oAuth so people can instantly "login" with existing Google/Facebook/Twitter accounts. Tweak Amazon Web Services to restrict uploads to only authenticated users.

Gather existing ash tree data from the city

Get the ash tree data the city already has into the system. Would need to talk with Bob McQueen, Princeton CIO.

Integrate bootstrap into resources directory

index.html was modified to utilize bootstrap. Complete the rewriting of the files located in the resources directory to utilize bootstrap as well.

Image compression doesn't work on iPhones

Uploading images on iPhones/iPads will work without compression, but uploading a 10MB image won't do.

Code Clean-up

Clean up the code, getting rid of any files in the repo that are old or unnecessary.

Make it a true Progressive Web App to improve experience

Make it a true Progressive Web App. There are a few things we could do to make this a better experience on mobile/tablets. "Save to Homescreen" would be a great feature so people don¹t have to use the URL to get there.
