Contributing

To contribute your remixed version of the tree.

1. Add a folder in the Code directory with your sketch. Must have an index.html containing your sketch. You can also duplicate the original and modify it.

2. Then add to index.md under sketches with the following format.

sketches:
  # existing entries
  - name: "Whatever you want to name it."
    description: "A brief description this is optional."
    creator: "Your name."
    url: "directoryName" # This has to be the exact directory name that you created under /code.

3. Create a pull request with the your changes.

Accessibility

The site passed most accessibility tests, but I'll note that best practice is to use descriptive text in a link and not "click here" or "linked here". As I understand it this is related to how screenreaders can provide a list of all links and the context is lost.

Host on GH Pages

lower case urls

Let's use lower case URLs for the site. I seem to be stuck with what I have with thecodingtrain.com, but here we are starting fresh!

List / embeds of all videos

With the official YouTube fundraiser I have the ability to tag any videos are part of the fundraiser. I think it would make sense to include all of the Tree coding challenges as well as the live stream. Could we embed all those videos on the landing page? Maybe there is a better design idea. Here is a list:

Suggestion: add animated background with procedural tree growing

I really like the live backgrounds on pages like alca.tv or https://www.ernst-schmidt.com/ and I think it would be really cool to add a live background to this site that generates a forest out of procedural fractal trees.
