Working AMD/Nvidia drivers + lolminer. Tested on Ubuntu 20.04 and 20.10 hosts without requiring the AMD driver on the host. Nvidia requires the Ubuntu docker runtime.

lolminer-docker's Issues

Make a CI matrix for various cuda / amd versions

Current with my setup (ubuntu 20.04), only the older cuda (11.4.2) works (I've also tried 11.6.0, but no luck). There is now also 11.7.0. I'd also like to soon update my setup to ubuntu 22.04.

For the AMD portion, I'll also likely need to make updates to this base image: https://github.com/compscidr/Docker_AMDGPU_Base_Image

The matrix should build (and somehow test)

  • ubuntu 20.04, ubuntu 22.04
  • cuda 11.4.2, 11.6.0, 11.7.0 (possible others?)
  • lolminer (various versions)

Also would be good to have dependabot / renovate recognize when lolminer has bumped so its not so manual.

REQUEST: Support additional command arguments

Thanks for putting this together!

I was wondering if you'd be able to add support for additional command arguments like:

--algo (in addition to or **in place of** --coin)
--dualalgo
--dualpool
--dualuser
--cclk
--lhrtune
--config (which could solve all of the possible use cases)

Either through a conditional entrypoint or variables?

Tried with them as post arguments but not having any love.

Cheers!

EDIT: AND/OR while I'm thinking about it, it might be nice to just be able to pass a config file instead to cover the myriad of use cases and possible future args!

LolMiner Update

Hello, I wanted to see if it would be possible to update to the latest version of lolminer. The current image does not support 1.81.

Automatic updates via dependabot or renovate

The build process of new container images is dependant on the build and deploy GH actions workflows.

I have dependabot and renovate configured, however, they aren't really able to catch the way this is configured (I use a build matrix and am currently manually making a PR to append the latest build tag from https://github.com/Lolliedieb/lolMiner-releases/releases)

It looks like there are some requests from renovate: renovatebot/renovate#24817 to support this type of usecase, but its not straightforward yet (although one of the requesters of the feature seems to have proposed a possible solution).

This needs some time and attention but ultimately could make updates almost automatic.

insufficient user rights in lolminer?

Hello,

thank you for your work!

My issue:
lolminer starts and works fine without any special arguments, but when I want to change my overclocking settings I get the following error code:

Applying overclock settings...
GPU 0: core clock offset 100 not applied (insufficient user rights).
GPU 0: locked core clock not applied.
GPU 0: locked memory clock not applied.
GPU 0: power limit 170 not applied.
GPU 0: fan percentage 60 not applied.

How can I solve the problem?

I`m running docker as root.

Tahnk you!
