I have expanded your middlware with Issuer, but this is not main future. This is my realistic template of backend API with a lot of realistic futures like

• NET COTE 5 (VB.NET) BackendAPI project template with JWT Middleware AU,
• API controller with anon and autorised request,
• Service example,
• Custom Attribute,
• Custom backend port,
• Config parameters,
• MySQL database,
• AES cryptor,
• Masked real database pass in config,
• Custom Logger,
• Swagger API UI,
• EF core,
• EF Core extension function,

First 5 future has similar to you project, other is my template to a lot of similar project. Usually I write only to Linux with MySQL.
My project also used Naming conversion useful for VB programmers.

Project has link to you repository with Middleware, because this version based to your idea. However in my Backend API I can use 3 other version of JWT creator - (2) with IdentiryServer and (3) with regeneration JWT in controller, (4) with bridge JWT and Cookies (AspSessionID).

From my project need only delete a couple of comments and this project is ready to use working with real MySQL Linux DB with EF NET CORE 5 and helpful extension. Crypting function in my project is mandatory because I newer show password to detabase connect in clear form.
