active-repos-for-contributing's Issues

Have a guideline on what repos should be here

Perhaps something like:

  • The repo needs to be active (at least X commits over Y time)
  • It needs to have either
    • Evidence that it's a solid project (e.g., # stars)
    • Evidence that it's a good repo for contributing (active PR history)

Making better directory structure.

I think adding all the repo list directly in the README.md is not good idea because eventually it will become so long that it will be difficult to find particular repos (suppose I wanted repo for JS, so it will be difficult to find).
Different directories can be made with languages name (like JS, TS, Go, etc) which will contains the list of all repos for particular langauge only. Now this can be linked to main README file, so main README will be short and concise.

What are your take on this?

Allow other curated awesome lists to be part of current list separately

Suggestion 01

#14 check out #21 you will see github has fewer other Repos that are serving same purpose Shouldn't we add such lists in separate space ?

Suggestion 02

Give a well organized look for quicker reach to relevant projects ...bcz we want contributions at once by beginners :)

  1. Add table of content at top
  2. list languages/tech stack
  3. list projects

Explain what this repo is for exactly

This repo exists to help people find open source repos to contribute to.

There are many, many repos on GitHub, and it's hard to know which ones are friendly and/or interesting to get involved with.

By keeping this list, it will hopefully make the process of finding a repo simpler.
