Anyone tried upgrading the RAM from 2 x 1M to higher capacity ??

Good work on the chubby-hat, read about this on hackaday.io.

Unrelated to chubby-hat, did anyone tried upgrading 2 x 1M RAM to a higher capacities ??

I was reading the ESMT datasheets but have not much experience with FPGA memory.

Switchable in/outs and pmod ports

As you’ve hard wired some of the outputs to be inputs - mentioned in #6 - do you need to have a template in the firmware to stop the FPGA trying to output on those lines? Presumably, you need to replace the stock firmware? Also, why are there only 7 pmod ports, when there are 8 hub75 outputs? What’s is the eighth one used for? Could one be used, with replacement buffer chips - from a thread on chubby75 - to allow switchable IO ports? So, all the ports could be selectable in/out ports?

Rename signals coming from Colorlight

The Colorlight 5A-75B v8.0 has different FPGA pins mapped to the connector pins than the v7.0.
To maintain generality, the signal names should reflect the connector and pin rather than FPGA pin name.

Gerbers

I've just acquired some of those cheap fpga boards. Could you generate gerbers for JLCPCB?
Also, does the PCB work? what about replacing the buffers on board? Unfortunately I cannot find the "chip" boards.

Find solution for +3.3V on Pmod

Currently the +3.3V ports of the Pmod would be unpowered, if no LDO is installed on the Chubby Hat.

One option is to get power from the Colorlight. This could happen through a jumper from VDD to +3.3V.

Another option is getting power from the module soldered to the Chubby Hat.
