travelblog's Issues

Create groups for posts

To structure posts of different journeys, it would be helpful being able to create post groups with an image, name and description.

General purpose email queue

TravelBlog's current email queue can only save emails to recipients, no system emails to admins e.g. about new registrations. This should be replaced with a general purpose email pipeline like the one from korga.

Video thumbnails

TravelBlog should be able to generate thumbnails videos with the same API as for photos. This would prevent the browser from downloading the first part of a video every time and could thereby save a lot of network traffic.

Post links cannot be opened from Gmail Android app

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a blog post email in Gmail on Android
  2. Click on the Read more button

Actual behavior

A custom tab opens and loads the admin login screen.

Expected behavior

A custom tab opens gets authenticated and shows the blog post.

Additional context

After analyzing traffic with tcpdump it looks like Android custom tabs ignore Set-Cookie headers and send the package id from the app they were launched from as Referrer. This problems appears both in Chrome and Firefox and might be a conceptual incompatibility with TravelBlog's architecture.

Forward messages from Signal group via email

TravelBlog is not really suitable for quick informal communication. Signal groups could be used for that purpose and messages forwarded via email to users who do want to install Signal.

Message forwarding should be disabled by default but an administrator should be able to enable it. However, users show be able to unsubscribe at any time.
