steamwidgets-web's Issues

Add event handler callbacks

Add the following event handlers to all widgets:

  • onInit: When the widget is initialized
  • onComplete: When the widget is completely loaded

Steam API Caching?

This is a sort of request/question. Would an API cache be in the scope of work soon?

As API calls for https://example.com/api/query/app?appid=GAME&lang=english can take upwards of 1.5 to 2 Seconds to complete, and then this is all done staggered in the waterfall it is jarring to visitors.

Most of this is due to the Steam Community API being complete garbage. But with Steam API response being JSON, they could in theory be cached

Better landing page design

Create a better descriptive landing page that appeals visually. Put documentation into a separate view accessible by a separate route.

New widget: Steam Group

Implement widget feature for Steam groups.

To do:

  • Implement backend data retriever
  • Implement rendering module
  • Add documentation on index page
  • Add to README
  • Add to stats

Getting exception when embedding server widget into website

This line is throwing an exception when I'm trying to load the server data for my game server onto my site. I'm able to do other widgets on my site like apps using the demo information. Love this tool and hope to leverage it on my website! :D

bots = bots.replace(':count', json.data.bots);
