Worked through Derek Wyatt's Akka Concurrency book

Worked though the examples in the pre-print of Derek Wyatt's book, Akka Concurrency. I found a lot bugs were while working through the book, and I sometimes had to pick an arbitrary implementation for things where code was unexpectedly not provided or wouldn't compile. From what I've heard, the released edition didn't fix many or most of the bugs, so the code probably won't differ from the print version by much.

Min/Mac

In Altimeter.scala should the value on min/max not be the other way round?

rateOfClimb = amount.min(1.0f).max(-1.0f) * maxRateOfClimb

Replacing deprecated actorFor

What would be a good way to replace the deprecated actorFor uses in the book?

Compilation errors

Hi.

I use SCALA-IDE 3.0.1 final with Akka 2.2.1 and Scala 2.10.2.

When I import the source into Eclipse, I get several compilation errors. Examples:

1. Plane.scala:
   val maleBathroomCounter = Agent(GenderAndTime(Male, 0.seconds, 0))(context.system)
   Here the last argument is not recognized (context.system). When removed, the code compiles.
2. Plane.scala
   val male = maleBathroomCounter.await
   error message: "value await is not a member of akka.agent.Agent[zzz.akka.avionics.GenderAndTime]

It would be nice which versions of Scala and Akka the code fully compiles.

Replace deprecated ActorRef.isTerminated

How can we replace the deprecated isTerminated method?
It is used in FlyingBehaviour.scala on line 93:

HOCON config snippet
