Two questions:
And if no to either of the above, are they features that could be added in a future update?
Pretty self-explanatory. While the game already has an option to disable friendly fire in teams via commands, it only applies to players and could still harm and kill mobs in the same team and vice versa.
Is there any way to fix this? Wild wolves hunt little sheep endlessly, that's why I can't tame them.
Minecraft 1.20.1
If you try to join a server with friendly fire mod version 7.0.2, it will say incomplete set of tags. Use version 7.0.1 and this will not happen.
crash-2020-11-30_20.40.17-server.txt
Well, from what I understand from the report, there were problems between the Lightning Dragon and the mod.
Hello!
Playing on 1.14.4 with Respawnable Pets, but the item for respawn activation requires that I hit my wolf, which I can't do unless I uninstall Friendly Fire or disable "protectPetsFromOwner" in the config.
I think a whitelist for items that let you hit pets would be a pretty good solution. c:
There should be an option to toggle this reminder off because it is unnecessary to be reminded everytime that it is protected, or how to intentionally hit them.
EDIT: Apart from that, great mod! works as intended
Forge version 43.2.13
Friendly Fire version 14.0.4
Open Loader version 15.0.1
Villagers still receive damage from player.
Hi! Love your mod, is there any way I could enable/disable the crouch bypass for general protected entities?
If not, how could I prevent mobs from being damages instead of using your mod?
Cheers!

It would be nice, if the friendly fire feature would also apply to players on a friend/foe-list.
Some mods add sweeping weapons, which makes it hard to fight multiple mobs or bosses close to other players.
If this mod could prevent hitting our own friends that would be awesome.
If possible this should come with 3 options:
Add the ability to register the id entity in the configuration (example "ice and fire:hippogryph")
Mod 'FriendlyFire' (friendlyfire) 17.0.1 requires version 1.20 of 'Minecraft' (minecraft), but only the wrong version is present: 1.20.1!
Could you please update this mod to 1.20.1?
Thanks for this helpful mod. ❤️
Tested it with bow and arrow
Can you add to the list
Villagers? It's annoying when trying to change their jobs breaking blocks and hitting them, then an iron golem kills you
And horses?
FriendlyFire-1.12.2-1.5.9
BabyMobs-1.12-1.5.5
Forge 14.23.5.2807
The BabyMobs version of the Cat that follows around the Minecraft Witch [not the Ender Zoo Cat] has the label "tamed" and you cannot attack it [not sure if the label matters but so far the only mob I have found that has a issue]. One of my players thought it was a joke until it got serious; He died.
Will be sharing this with BabyMobs as well.
Hi there!
We'd love to use your mod(s) in our pack, but we can't find any info about the licensing of Friendly-Fire.
The CurseForge page says that it's "all rights reserved," but we would appreciate additional clarification.
Only happens with the latest alpha release, 14.0.2. All mobs, no matter it's vanilla or modded, seem to require sneaking to bypass the protection.
If you shoot directly above your pet it will keep bouncing on top of them for a while but eventually it'll hurt them
Using this mod together with the Epic Fight Mod and it works as intended, however Epic Fight grants hitboxes to the attacks of our pets, meaning that now the opposite problem exists, where players can be accidentally damage by their own pets.
It Will Be Good A Option To Disable Damage Against Villagers And Iron Golems For Those Players Who Want It.
Would it be possible to add an item (usable nametag-like item or Wand) that grants Friendly Fire protections to any mob of choice? To account for entities that can still act friendly, or could use protection from individual players, but don’t have the Tameable attribute.
Could function as such:
Player-A applies tag to Mob
Player-A can no longer damage Mob unless using shift click to bypass protection
Mob can still be damaged by All Other Players
Like regular tamed mobs, Mob can only be linked to One Player At A Time
For balance, a config toggle between craftable/noncraftable?
Or if that’s too much, a tag that links a Mob to a Team, then that Mob receives Friendly Fire protections from people on that team? (In vanilla this doesn’t work for mobs lol)
I can’t imagine these things are easy, not asking for everything 😂
Would this sort of feature be possible to implement, or ever considered?
Thank you so much for your time. 🤍
It is actually the most annoying thing in the world when me and some friends are taking on a boss and one of us accidentally hits someone else's tamed or summoned mob, because suddenly you become prime target number 1 to that dumb little animal
Even turning PVP off on the server doesn't do anything, and V-Tweaks' function with this idea doesn't work with mods (it is bugged to make some enemies invincible)
Would it be possible to add an option in the configuration for villagers and golems?
It is quite common for them to get in the way in the middle of a raid. I don't want a golem to attack me or a villager to raise my prices haha.
Is it possible for you to add a feature where, we can add what mobs we want to be protected, so if you try to hurt it/another mob tries to hurt it, it won't be hurt?
I installed this mod, saw that it disabled friendly fire, tried it on a horse and now the horse is dead. May be something that was overseen, but I wanted to ask: can this be patched? I'm new to mods and wanted to spice up my Minecraft experience and I'm using a mod that makes horses better. Thanks!
"Iron's spell" spells can deal damage to entities that theoretically should not take damage. Such as fireballs or other types of damage including some that are applied to the ground.
It makes sense (maybe(?) but the strange thing is with area healing spells they only work for entities that are not pets, villagers and golems receive magic damage but can also receive healing.
Pets for some reason not only receive magical damage, but also block the healing that is applied to them.
I would really appreciate it if you could do something with this and block the magic damage or at least enable healing for the pets.
(Here I use healing circle, it looks like the snow golem receives healing (green numbers) but my mule does not.)
Thank you for your time and for this great mod :)
Hello, could you tell me what command I have to write to deactivate the protection for the golems?
Hello, the baby hoglins were invulnerable until I changed a setting
Suggestion: Doing the same for Skeletons and wither Skeletons when they hit other mobs?
Currently Skeletons tend to hit zombies or other skeletons way to often and then they start fighting each other.
Is it possible to add a feature to make Friendly Fire prevention in the Aggressive Faction also a thing?
Mmm but maybe that’s a bit to tricky since with various mods and many target interactions this could be going also pretty wrong. Like how would summons chose targets or how do revenge targets or dummy targets work etc.
Well it was just an idea anyway.
1.20.1
Forge
We are using a lot of mods on our server that won't update to 1.20.4 in near future. Please, port the last version of the mod to 1.20.1 version of minecraft, particularly because of the pets protection from team members' damage feature. I can use the 1.20.4 version, but minecraft keeps crashing after a minute or so.
Log file: https://pastebin.com/ePyEPU5m
I've noticed that no villagers could die to pillagers or zombies. Note: I'm playing with Minecraft Comes Alive reborn on 1.19.2 however it seems like without mods the normal villagers don't take damage either.
That line does successfully prevent myself from dealing damage as well.

FriendlyFire-1.16.3-5.0.1
Hiya, sorry for another issue 😭
Like the title suggests, pets nearby an unprotected mob are still knocked back by the sweeping effect of a sword, despite not taking damage. Pretty edge-case, but I can see it being a problem if fighting near cliffs or lava.
on Friendly Fire for 1.20.1 Fabric.
Hello, just a suggestion
Please do not post updates of your mods as Alpha if you want modpack developers to enable your mod. Twitch ignores all Alpha version mods and refuses to install any marked as it.
