AStarPathfinding

Description

The A-Star Pathfinding visualizer demonstrates how the A-Star pathfinding algorithm finds the most optimal path between a start cell and an end cell

Project Setup

Ensure that you are using Python version 3.9.6

Windows

  1. git clone https://github.com/darreb/AStarPathfinding.git to clone this repo
  2. cd AStarPathfinding/ to access the folder
  3. python -m venv env to create a virtual environment
  4. env\Scripts\activate to activate the virtual environment
  5. pip install -r requirements.txt to install all the dependencies
  6. python main.py to run the program

Mac

  1. git clone https://github.com/darreb/AStarPathfinding.git to clone this repo
  2. cd AStarPathfinding/ to access the folder
  3. python3 -m venv env to create a virtual environment
  4. source env/bin/activate to activate the virtual environment
  5. pip3 install -r requirements.txt to install all the dependencies
  6. python3 main.py to run the program

How To Use

  • Left-Click the Purple and Green square in order to select between your start(purple) and end(green) cells
  • Left-Click on the white space in order to place either cell
  • Right-Click on the white space in order to draw blocks that will block a certain path
  • Left-Click the trash button to clear the space
  • Left-Click the play button to run the visualizer
