anyway_projects's Issues

Fetch information on accidents according severity for each year 2015-2017

The results should contain the following information for the years 2015-2017 with markers."locationAccuracy" = 1:

  1. junction name
  2. long
  3. lat
  4. Geometry of the junction
  5. total accidents for that junction
  6. count of accidents with low severity
  7. count of accidents with medium severity
  8. count of accidents with high severity

Build a map that contains the costs of killed and injured over the years

Use the following link: http://media.mot.gov.il/PDF/HofesMeyda/NOALP/Prat2012.pdf - chapter 4 - the costs for an accident:
Some of the relevant tables:

  • Page 72, table 2 - costs of injured, killed, properties.
  • Page 74, table 3 - costs of “suffering and pain”
  • Page 80, table 7 - The percentage of decreasing the number of accidents due to infrastructure improvements (For example, adding a traffic light in a junction can decrease the number of accidents in 21%)

Look for other interesting data in that document.
Create a map that shows the costs of accidents in Israel over the years.
A few suggestions - you can either follow them or create something of your own:
First show a general picture, without drill down to locations.
Create an interactive visualization with drilldown to roads and/or junctions and/or municipalities.
Be creative, what will be interesting to show?
What additional data (plots, tables) will help us in making a positive impact?

Find Accidents Trends in municipalities

2nd Challenge
Find trends (that are statistically significant) of increase, decrease and outliers in accidents in Israel over time. The goal is to identify specific locations, like streets, junctions, roads sections, that experienced these trends and create a dashboard presenting these patterns with indications for locations with significant outliers (of increase or decrease).

Find these trends inside the municipalities - streets and junctions

Example for a use case - ציר המוות, רחוב ז׳בוטינסקי, פתח תקווה.
21 Pedestrians were killed there, tens were injured, until it was closed - https://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-4590901,00.html

We want to recognize such patterns and prevent future injuries and deaths.

Find Accidents Trends in inter-urban roads and junctions

1st Challenge:
Find trends (that are statistically significant) of increase, decrease and outliers in accidents in Israel over time.
The goal is to identify specific locations, like streets, junctions, roads sections, that experienced these trends and create a dashboard presenting these patterns with indications for locations with significant outliers (of increase or decrease).

In inter-urban roads and junctions
Relevant columns: road1, km (km is in hundreds of meters), road2

road2 column appears only in junctions.
Suggestion: separate the following cases:

  • accidents on roads
  • accident on junctions
