Unable to build for iOS simulator

When I clone this project and try to run it in Xcode, I get the following error:

ld: building for iOS Simulator, but linking in dylib built for iOS, file '/Users/louisaconwill/Documents/ar_face_filtering/photoedit-ios-objc-3/photoedit-ios-objc/Frameworks/DeepAR.framework/DeepAR' for architecture arm64
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)

Am I doing something incorrectly or is this project not compatible with the iOS simulator?
