This will no longer be maintained. You should use Tusky or Fedilab instead of the official Mastodon app.
(and you should not use Mastodon too ;))
This is a repository for a fork of the official Mastodon for Android app. I will attempt to make it free from terrible design choices.
As this app is using Java 17 features, you need JDK 17 or newer to build it. Other than that, everything is pretty standard. You can either import the project into Android Studio and build it from there, or run the following command in the project directory:
./gradlew assembleRelease
This project is released under the GPL-3 License.
As per GPL-3 License requirements, here are all the changes from official code:
- Added a Timeline Fragment with layout changes in which you can select which kind of timeline you want to see
- Added an auto-refresh and a cache wipe on exit of the Timeline Fragment
- Added a button on the main menu in order to access this timeline fragment
- Added an option to GetHomeTimeline in order to be able to get local timelines if requested
