py-vlcclient's Issues

License

You have a bit of a licensing mix:

  • in vlcclient.py you use the MIT license
  • in COPYING: I don't think that is MIT ('..All rights reserved..')
  • in setup.py you specify the BSD license

I think the MIT license becomes the relevant one when using the source code, but it is a bit confusing

python module

Hi
Can you please tell me a python module or package through which i can check what files are being run on Vlc player.
thnx.
any info would be really helpful.

add command doesn't work when running vlcclient from CLI

Running vlcclient.py from the CLI:

python vlcclient.py 127.0.0.1 add file.mov

Returns:
Connected to VLC 2.0.8

But VLC reports an error like: VLC can not open "/home/username/add"

So I guess it tries to open a file called "add" instead of a file called "file.mov"

Maybe somehting wrong with the sys.argv parsing but don't really understand where.
