This repo includes a lightweight set of input data for testing desisim by replicating pieces of the $DESI_ROOT directory tree with trimmed down files. To set $DESI_ROOT and $DESI_BASIS_TEMPLATES:

source setup-testdata.sh

The scripts to trim the basis templates and the cosmics files are in

bin/trim_basis_templates
bin/trim_cosmics_templates

These require access to a non-trimmed version of the files, e.g. from NERSC:/project/projectdirs/desi/

desisim-testdata's Issues

desisim-testdata package name violates the "no hyphens" requirement

DESI package names should not contain contain hyphens, because $DESISIM-TESTDATA would be an invalid environment variable.

If this package will never actually be installed, or, equivalently, if it will never actually have a module file, then there is no need to change the name.

add a CHANGES.md file

@moustakas please add a CHANGES.md (or CHANGES.rst) file to this repo, documenting the changes to help us track non-backwards compatible updates.

permission denied pushing new branch upstream

I ssh-cloned a copy of this repository, created a new branch, and made a bunch of changes. But I don't seem to have permission to push my branch. Am I doing something silly or is there a permission for this repository that needs to be set somewhere? Thanks.

and the repository exists.
