the 'system check' upon last upgrade detects the .mmdb file as s'thing to purge, along with a lot of other stuff. Wonder which side is the issue / unsync, piwik-beta or piwik-geoip2 - meanwhile I'd refrain from deleting anything
Hello, already created this issue in piwik branch
Does your plugin support the IPv6 databases of maxmind? I couldn't find any mention about it.
Thank you.
maybe you are interested in some questions which may arise when thinking about using your plugin:

Hi,
I purchased the GeoIP2 City Europe version from Maxmind, and I uploaded it to my piwik server. piwik is also reporting the plugin as installed, but every lookup returns unknown as location and then it falls back to assuming the location from the language of the browser.
For me on the first look it seems to be installed correctly... There are also no errors in the error_log
Can you help with fixing this problem?
Greetings
Alexander
With Matomo 3.5 we finally added support for Maxmind GeoIP2 databases to core.
Due to various changes in core this plugin is not compatible with Matomo 3.5 or later
@diabl0 thanks for providing this plugin and making GeoIP2 support available sooner!
Hello diabl0 i cloned your repo and added support for Intranet Lookups
Many thanks for your work on this!
Did you already have a look / use ideas of this "official" php Connection
https://github.com/maxmind/GeoIP2-php ?
maybe it helps somehow..
Just updated this plugin through the auto-updater in piwik, after that I now see some strange warning appearing while being on admin pages, is this a know problem/can it be safely ignored?
WARNING: /srv/http/piwik/plugins/UserCountry/LocationProvider.php(253): Notice - Undefined index: order - Piwik 3.0.4
Edit: it still seems to work, so this is more of a cosmetic thing.
Geolite has changed the download mechanism for the free Geolite database. Since December, 30 for downloads you have to be a registred user. See: https://blog.maxmind.com/2019/12/18/significant-changes-to-accessing-and-using-geolite2-databases/
Do you change the geoip2 Plugin to add credentials in settings?
After activating piwik-geoip2 plugin one of the default location providers: GeoIP (Php) is not there anymore.
See issue matomo-org/matomo#11157
I'm using Piwik 3.0.4, this plugin, and GeoIP2-City.mmdb
. If I query the db for some ip with some mmdb reader (like MaxMind-DB-Reader-php), I get the correct result, but in Piwik, the same IP it is assigned to Spain.
I'm not sure where I have to put the mmdb file (I didn't find any documentation about this) so I put it where i have my GeoIPCity.dat file, is it ok there?
