I think this may be invalid--I was using the svn version of disconnect which seems to be out of date.
I could not find the twitter link anywhere on the site. This is despite using Opera that is not installed with Disconnect.

What:
A possibility to show all objects/transmissions that have been blocked by disconnect would be nice
Why:
Sometimes, taking a quick look at what has been blocked by the Addon would make aít easy to rule out any problems without the nesseccity to unblock the whole Google part for example.
Comment 1 by Steinkiller, Jan 2, 2011
This is an enhancement of minor Priority
The last time we discussed over GoToMeeting you did not want this feature implemented as this is too similar to the feature available on Ghostery.

Could also be resolved by allowing site-whitelisting for Google cookies, so that things that use reCaptcha would be manually enabled -- but just allowing reCaptcha to work properly while continuing to anonymize or reject Google tracking cookies would be preferable.

Comment 6 by gabrielperren, Mar 11, 2011
This extension doesn't get along with 'Rapportive' extension (http://goo.gl/ieH3t), it blocks some 'Facebook' images.
Being able to white-list Gmail would solve this (or maybe add a workaround for 'Rapportive'?).
Comment 7 by stephenjudge, Aug 13, 2011
I'd like to be able to manage a whitelist locally so I an whitelist certain websites as I see fit, rather then having to request them to be whitelisted by you for all the extension users. For example I generally want to black all Facebook connect items on all third party websites. But then there are also some Facebook apps that are hosted on the own domain that are completely build around Facebook connect so it must be able to access Facebook connect to work, e.g. http://hotcuteorokay.com . I don't want to be toggling the Disconnect Facebook button on and off all the time, in fact I'd rather not have the Disconnect button on my toolbar altogether. Instead I'd like to manage a whitelist that always allows the use of Facebook on the whitelisted sites.
Comment 8 by arnulf.metzger, Aug 25, 2011
On the help forums and here under issues there are lots of topics related to specific sites. I believe most of these issues can be resolved if every disconnect user can locally whitelist specific domains. I for example am using a little known German financial website that Disconnect interferes with. No need to adapt Disconnect to this site that nobody else uses, but a simple option to whitelist this page/domain to completely prevent Disconnect from parsing the page would solve all issues!
Thank you.

I think this has to do with chrome not extensions content scripts at the right moment or something like that.

However, I am a safari user and I am using a extension named "Incognito" ( http://www.orbicule.com/incognito/ ) They say it can do the same things as "Disconnect"
so i wonder which is better . and is there any plan that makes two projects to only one? a new project better than both?

1.Install Disconnect in Chrome, do no setting of Disconnet preferences or settings (haven't looked to see what you can or can't do)
2. Go to Google search and try to shut off instant. It forces you to google's preferences page where the Location field is required. No matter what valid location I enter, it raises an error dialog (see attached)
Bottom line: seems like it's either live with google instant (which I don't like) or set Disconnect to allow Google (which I don't like).

Very much appreciate the attempt to fix the issue. Can you explain the reason for all Disconnect cookies being created up front? Is this really necessary? Originally, I thought it was the website dropping the cookies until I looked closer. I believe this is a notable issue because the average user will think that Disconnect has enabled (Google, .etc) to track his/her browsing just by looking the cookies (adwords, .etc) created in the browser. There is no real explanation of the technique so the use of cookies leave a user to "trust" that the cookie he/she sees are not the websites/Google.
Comment 3 by project member byoogle, Jan 17, 2011
Google (and Yahoo) implement single sign-on -- when you log into one service, you get a set of generic cookies that are sent to many other services. The problem is some of those many services include search features, allowing your search history to be tracked. Disconnect instead generates many specific cookies that only let you access and transmit your personal data to non-search services.

I am also having this problem. I emailed Mog.com first to see if it was a problem on their end and their response was:
Thank you for your inquiry. Facebook is not a requirement to use our new browser. We do offer a facebook connect option but it is completely optional and is by default disabled on all profiles.
You were getting the error in your browser because the Facebook disconnect extension is enabled.
The Facebook Disconnect plugin is supposed to only block requests from 3rd party websites to Facebook. Our Chrome player does NOT make calls to Facebook directly and shouldn't be impacted.
The Facebook Disconnect plugin developer built his product in a day. He encourages people to write him and log bugs. We have already submitted one to him and encourage you to do the same as it should not be causing issues with our player.
Please see https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ejpepffjfmamnambagiibghpg...
They have released a new version of their website that is basically a port of the Chrome extension, and it is also unusable with this or Disconnect running.

If I attempt to browse to http://code.google.com/ I am eventually served a 502 error; attempting to go to something deeper, say, http://code.google.com/p/byoogle/, gives me an instant 500 error.
Opening a private browsing window and operating on Google Code works as expected.
Initially, it seemed that unticking "Depersonalize searches" was enough to fix this, but right now it doesn't seem to make a difference either way.

Strongly support this. I'd even suggest the red "NO" circle & slash instead of using different contrasts.
And great extension, thanks!
This is an issue of aesthetic preferences.

What do you see instead? I expected when I removed the button from the navigation toolbar that it remain gone and not re-appear when I next load Firefox
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Firefox 3.6.18
Ubuntu 10.10
Disconnect 1.0.1

I only use disconnect to permanently block all Facebook connect elements on pages. I never toggle this option on or off and I don't block any other services. I have no need to have the button on my toolbar and I don't like loads of uneeded buttons on my toolbar so I want to remove it.
I wonder if it makes sense to implement this feature. This user could be better served if he installed Facebook Disconnect instead. Implementing this feature on Disconnect might serve to confuse other users who wish to block widgets other than those from Facebook.

Go to the front page of singaporeair.com. Near the top there is an alert about New York flights. Clicking on that has no effect. Enter in two random cities (eg SIN and SFO) and some random dates and hit book or show schedule and nothing happens.
If I disable the Google tracking and reload the page then it works.

I'm building a couple of band websites and clients want to display facebook fan page info on some pages. Visitors with this extension enabled will be unable to see the content

This issue continues to exist with version 1.2.0 on Chrome 15.0.874.106.
With the plug-in enabled, nothing renders - and you don't even know there was something to see there. With the plug-in disabled - and it renders fine.
Take the above steps, and you can see it on a blog post from my company website - http://www.opscode.com/blog/2011/11/09/like-our-new-facebook-page/
This is a contradiction. The next foreseeable dispute to arise from other users would be why are facebook widgets blocked on some sites and not on others. There will be no end to this.

Fist of all, thank you for a good extention. It has always creeped me about what FaceBook does. And there has apparently been a few leaks by hacker-attacks too.
Well, as the title says, I would like to know when the extention "disconnects" facebook. I know that you have listed this as a planned feature, but the future is not implemented yet. I also made a (bit cluttered) page-action icon to speed up things ;-D :

Hmm, 19x19px really is a small space. I tried to get a thumbs-down hand, facebook icon and a power cord with a cross over. I does not force you to use it, but if you like it, then it is yours.
Adding this bug report so that people can vote on this feature, I hope that you don't feel that I'm trying to force you to work. Which is not the case.
Cheers!

December 19th - seems to work now, changed nothing on system. Perhaps caused by something particular on the site?

I had this problem too, I disabled Facebook disconnect and now it works.

Thanks for the error report. Since I've tested pretty extensively with Google Docs, can I get you to switch the Google blocking off then on and see if that helps.

I'm seeing this issue also, but I am also using a Google Apps account (not a gmail account).
Comment 3 by john.hinnegan, Dec 15, 2010
Here's what I did,
This webpage has a redirect loop.
The webpage at https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=XXXX&hl=en&pli=1 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.
Also, having the google blocking on regularly signs me out of gmail
Comment 4 by john.hinnegan, Dec 15, 2010
In step 4 of the previous post, it should read "I'm now signed out" vs. "I'm not signed out"
and by 'google docs homepage', I mean the page showing all of my docs, my link being https://docs.google.com/?pli=1&authuser=0#all
Comment 5 by IanMLewis, Jan 25, 2011
I simply can't log into google docs with the extension enabled.
For docs.google.com I was redirected to: http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?answer=32050&hl=en&ctx=ch_CheckCookie&p=writely
which says:
"If you've been redirected to this page from the sign-in box, we've detected an error with your cookie settings. Please follow the instructions for your browser listed below. After clearing your cache and cookies, try signing in again."
For google apps I get redirected back to the login page.
If I try to access docs for either a google account or google apps account I'm logged out of the respective account and can't access gmail or other google services.

I never had much luck reproducing this issue. Till now. Hopefully, I can spot the cause next.
You can sidestep the problem altogether by unchecking the "Depersonalize searches" box (which I added because there seem to be Google-configuration corner cases I can't solve and I wanted to at least let people stop social-widget tracking).
