aws-kops-kubernetes-fullstack-app icon aws-kops-kubernetes-fullstack-app

This Kubernetes project delivers a scalable ReactJS frontend and NodeJS backend, backed by a secure MongoDB database (statefulset with encrypted AWS EBS GP2 PVC). Monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana) and alerting (kube-state-metrics, Alertmanager) provide deep insights. Advanced security includes network policies restricting access to MongoDB.

This demo showcases a simplified setup using Nomad and Consul on a single machine for both server and client roles. It deploys a React.js frontend and a Node.js backend from Docker Hub. Separate Nomad jobs manage the frontend, backend, and an Nginx load balancer. Consul handles service discovery, enabling Nginx to dynamically route traffic.

I have implemented a CI/CD pipeline using GITHUB ACTIONS to deploy a React frontend and Node.js backend project onto an AWS EC2 instance. The CI/CD workflow utilizes a github managed runner for GITHUB ACTIONS to facilitate automated deployment. The EC2 instance is pre-installed with Node.js and Nginx.

In this CI/CD, the Jenkins pipeline will deploy React and Node.js project hosted on GitHub. Triggered by GitHub webhook on tag creation event, Jenkins builds the React, transfers it to an EC2 instance. The Node.js is Dockerized, pushed to Docker Hub, and then pulled and run on the EC2 machine.

A CI/CD pipeline has been established using GITHUB ACTIONS for automating the deployment of a React frontend project to an AWS EC2 instance. The EC2 instance is pre-installed with Node.js and Nginx. This streamlined process ensures efficient deployment of the the React application, leveraging the CI/CD capabilities provided by GitHub Actions.
