Sesame RDF server developer quickstart guide:
-
Download apache tomcat ( tomcat.apache.org/download-60.cgi ), extract it and read RUNNING.txt. Make sure you have a jre installed that fulfills tomcat’s requirements. On ubuntu/debian, you want openjdk-6-jre and/or openjdk-6-jre-headless.
-
Download sesame. ( sourceforge.net/projects/sesame/files/Sesame%202/ ). Extract it and copy the .war files from openrdf-sesame-<your version>/war/ to apache-tomcat-<your version>/webapps/
-
cd to the apache tomcat root path and run ./bin/startup.sh You should now be able to access localhost:8080/openrdf-workbench/ and localhost:8080/openrdf-sesame/ in your browser. This works great under a normal user account.
-
Use ./bin/shutdown.sh to shutdown tomcat.
