Spark Streaming keep statuses of different components of the tool. A mechanism should be implemented to be able to remove them on demand while the job is running.
What about a socket source that receives JSONs with keys to remove?

Discussion: Probably we should use/develop some method to compare JSON Objects in tests, instead of hardcoding the expected result, because same objects could have keys in different order, which would fail the test when they are actually the same object.
Should use same logic to build id: project + environment + name
These fields would become part of the metric filter as oldest and and newest.
